101 C.L.A.S.S. is a good place to ask questions and to find out more about Crosspoint. We’d love to have you attend! If you need childcare, we will need to know in advance.

This class is the basic introduction to our church family and is taught by Pastor Sam. There is no obligation to become a member, just come check us out. We’ll give you something to eat and we’ll look at four things that unite us as a church family:

• Our Strategy (How we fulfill our purpose)

• Our Structure (When and where we fulfill our purpose)

• Our Statement (Why we exist as a church)

• Our Salvation (What God has done for us)

Class 101 is required for church membership and for most ministry positions.

About Church Membership

The difference between “attenders” and “members” can be summed up in one word: Commitment

At CROSSPOINT we recognize the need for a formal membership. We ask you to commit to membership for four reasons:

1. A Biblical Reason: Christ is committed to the church

“…Christ loved the church, and he gave his life for it.” Ephesians 5:25

2. A Cultural Reason: Commitment always builds character.

We live in an age where very few want to be committed to anything…a job…a marriage…our country. This attitude has even produced a generation of “church shoppers and hoppers”. Membership swims against the current of America’s “consumer religion.” It is an unselfish decision.

3. A Practical Reason: It defines who can be counted on.

Every team must have a roster. Every school must have an enrollment. Every business has a payroll. Every army has an enlistment. Even our country takes a census and requires voter registration. Membership identifies our family.

4. A Personal Reason: It produces spiritual growth

The New Testament places a major emphasis on the need for Christians to be accountable to each other for spiritual growth. You cannot be accountable when you’re not committed to any specific church family.

Welcome to Crosspoint Church. We are a friendly community that is here to love God, each other, and the world around us. We enjoy inspirational programs for all ages, from toddlers to seniors. The teaching includes practical, real-life advice on topics like how to be a better parent, how to get along with stubborn co-workers, how to relieve pain, and how to maintain intimacy in your marriage.

Regular service times are Sundays 10:30am – Noon with small group studies with breakfast meeting from 9:00am – 10:15am

For more answers to commonly asked questions check out the Frequently Asked Questions area.

Children
Nursery is available for babies, preschoolers, and children through kindergarten. Nursery is appropriately staffed for babies, with cribs, swings, and other stimulating toys.
For preschool and kindergarten there are currently three classes—babies up to age 2, ages 2 & 3, and age 4 through kindergarten. Sunday school is filled with a Biblical lesson as well as fun activities. Children are given “take homes” each week so they can share what they learned with the rest of the family. All teaching is on an age appropriate level.
The elementary school ministries are filled with music, activities and fun. Kids make friends while learning biblical lessons and how to apply them to practical situations like obeying their parents, getting along with others, and telling the truth. All in a secure, safe atmosphere.

Youth
Our high school group meets every Sunday morning from 9:00- 10:15. Come a little early for a free breakfast downstairs! We’ll spend some time hanging out upstairs, and then we’ll look into the scriptures to find something deep and real.
For middle school grades 6- 8, we meet every Sunday morning from 9:00- 10:15. Our small group format allows students to receive maximum attention, follow-up, and accountability. Come a little early and have a free breakfast with us!

Small Groups
The cornerstone of our adult ministries is friends meeting together in a small group of other friends. We know that when problems happen or joy fills your life its best shared with close friends. Most of our groups meet on a weekly basis either at the church facility in Whitesboro or in members homes all across the Mohawk Valley. Some groups meet to study a certain topic, like a study on finances and how to stretch your income. Other groups meet for the location, like all the families in a housing community getting together for a barbecue. Some groups meet because of a common interest, like men getting together for breakfast on Tuesday mornings or parents getting together to exchange parenting tips. Of course the main reason small groups meet is because they enjoy getting together with their friends.

On your first visit to CRBC you can expect to find:

Parking available. We ask our members to leave the closer parking spots available for first time guests. For convenience, handicapped attenders are encouraged to use the upper parking where doors open into the second story, near the back of the sanctuary where there is a coat closet and a handicap bathroom right there. Another option for our handicapped guests is to come in the main entrance on the first floor. You will find handicap parking near the door and an elevator lift inside at the opposite end of the building.

Smiling greeters. Someone will be near the door to greet you, offer you a name badge, and escort you to a worship service or an adult bible study class or even to the coffee.

Upbeat contemporary music sprinkled with a few older hymns. You are sure to enjoy the praise band.

An inspiring, biblical message.

People like you living in Whitesboro and the surrounding areas. We have wonderful members that we are very proud of. They come from many different backgrounds and as far away as Camden and Remsen. However, there are no perfect people here.

A class for your age group. Class offerings vary but, you can find classes on topics that will help you to live life to the fullest and become all that God intends for you to be. For example: Bible book studies, strengthening marriages, how to grow in your Christian walk, etc.

Classes for your kids. We have something for all age groups. Please click on the appropriate link above for your children and youth.

Comfortable atmosphere. Temperatures are kept nice and the chairs are comfy.

Expect to be left out of the offering. Really it is up to you, but we do not expect our guests to give an offering. That is one of the responsibilities and privileges of membership.

About God

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.

Genesis 1:1, 26,27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14

About Man

Man is made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. He is the supreme object of God’s creation. Although man has tremendous potential for good, he is marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called sin. This attitude separates man from God.

Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1,2

About Eternity

Man was created to exist forever. He will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence.

John 3:16; John 2:25; John 5:11-13; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15; Matthew 1:8; Matthew 2:44,46

About Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again to earth to reign as King of Kings, Lord of Lords.

Matthew 1:22,23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5, 1410-30; Hebrews 4:14,15; 1 Corinthians 15:3,4; Romans 1:3,4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14,15; Titus 2:13

About Salvation

Salvation is a gift from God to man. Man can never make up for his sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can man be saved from sin’s penalty. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.

Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8,9; John 14:6, 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1

About Eternal Security

Because God gives man eternal life through Jesus Christ, the believer is secure in his salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives this security.

John 10:29; 2 Timothy 1:12; Hebrews 7:25; 10: 10,14; 1 Peter 1:3-5

About the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Christian seeks to live under His control daily.

2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16,17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:1

About the Bible

The Bible is God’s word to all men. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without any mixture of error.

2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20,21; 2 Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119:105,160. 12:6; Proverbs 30:5
